Get to Know Jonathan Dukes Jr.

"Where There Is Hope, There Can Be Healing"

Jonathan Dukes Jr. is a well-known Chaplain in the military. He is a native of Baltimore, MD. He completed his Bachelors of Art in Liberal Studies from North Carolina A&T State University and his Master of Divinity from Fuller Theological Seminary. Jonathan has completed one unit of clinical pastoral education and is a certified facilitator in Myers Briggs Type Indicator. Jonathan has served three years as a campus minister for Cru and the Impact Movement.

Jonathan Dukes Jr. enjoys all aspects of his work as an Army chaplain, where he is responsible for the religious support and emotional/moral health of Army Soldiers and Family Members. Working in such a pluralistic environment has given Jonathan experience in counseling and advising individuals and families of distinct walks of life. Jonathan is a proponent for innovative and progressive ways to help people, couples and families find what gives them purpose, direction and fulfillment. He wants to help such people connect to personal and communal resources that can help sustain, improve or restore their quality of life.

Because of his gifts and training so far, Jonathan is one who can empathize, one who can others see value where they may have not seen it, and one whose sincerity reveals to the client who they are and how they feel matter.

Why See A Chaplain?

  • Some think that counseling is for individuals or couples only in crisis-mode. That is not the case.

  • I am glad to counsel those who simply may want a pastoral perspective, a soundboard to process their thoughts or unique opportunities to be advised on healthy life practices.

  • I would encourage you to allow me to be your pastoral counselor to help you sustain your personal or relational wellness from a emotional, psychological or spiritual lens.

  • I would love to come along side you on your journey or on your relationship/family journey to see where hope can take you.
